Jaipur, Oct 7 (NationPress) In a significant operation, the police in Alwar district have apprehended five individuals accused of pressuring impoverished Hindu men and women into converting to Christianity through intimidation and inducement, officials reported on Tuesday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Sudhir Chaudhary verified that the arrests were linked to illegal religious conversions with connections traced back to Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh and Jaipur.

Authorities also confiscated religious materials from the suspects, SP Chaudhary stated.

The police acted upon a complaint from a resident of Nainapur village, who alleged that local Hindus were being unlawfully converted.

Due to the gravity of the allegations, a Special Investigation Team was established under Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Priyanka and Circle Officer (Laxmangarh) Kailash Jindal.

A team led by the Baroda Mev Station House Officer (SHO) visited the village to begin their investigation.

The inquiry uncovered that the suspects were reportedly disseminating misinformation regarding the Hindu religion.

Evidence including eyewitness testimonies, a seized pen drive, and other propaganda materials helped strengthen the case.

A formal case was lodged at the Baroda Mev police station.

Following questioning and preliminary evidence collection, five suspects were taken into custody.

The individuals arrested include Prashant Jatav (25) from Alwar; Ramnarayan Bairwa (48) and Mahesh Meghwal (24) from Malakheda; Keshav Vaidada (39) from Jaipur's Jagatpura; and Rohit Jatav (25).

SP Chaudhary noted that investigations are ongoing to uncover the larger network potentially involved in this operation, including sources of funding and organizational support.

The case remains actively under investigation as officials work diligently to unravel all connections related to this matter, they confirmed.
