New Delhi, April 5 (NationPress) Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Lok Sabha, on Saturday honored Babu Jagjivan Ram on his birth anniversary, which is celebrated as Samta Diwas nationwide.
This day recognizes the life and contributions of the veteran freedom fighter, socialist icon, and advocate for social justice.
To commemorate the occasion, LoP Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by numerous senior Congress leaders, visited the Babu Jagjivan Ram memorial to pay respects to the former Deputy Prime Minister.
On X, LoP Gandhi stated, "Respectful tributes to Babu Jagjivan Ram ji on his birth anniversary. Babu ji committed his entire life to advocating for the rights of the marginalized, the oppressed, and Dalits. He fortified the democratic and constitutional values of our nation by enhancing their rights and participation."
