New Delhi, May 27 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition (LoP), Rahul Gandhi, asserted on Tuesday that the 'Not Found Suitable' category serves as a new form of oppression within Central Universities, aimed at denying Dalits and Other Backward Community (OBC) students their rightful access to equal rights and benefits. He pledged to join forces with students to vehemently contest the anti-reservation policies of the BJP-led administration.
Gandhi's latest critique of the government emerged following his recent dialogue with members of the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU).
Throughout this discussion, students recounted their everyday challenges and encounters with the administration regarding issues such as the 'Not Found Suitable' category and the suppression of their voices. The Congress MP encouraged them to grasp the underlying issue – ostracisation stemming from their social status.
“In the past, there were opportunities in the public sector. Now, you are being systematically removed from the system; privatisation is the tool being used,” said LoP Gandhi.
“Let's be clear, it’s not privatisation but de-Dalitification and de-OBCfication that is occurring,” he informed one student.

“This 'Not Found Suitable' category is the latest manifestation of Manuism. Qualified SC/ST/OBC candidates are intentionally being disqualified to exclude them from educational and leadership opportunities,” he shared on X, including a video of his discussion with students.
The Congress MP alleged that the Modi administration is dismantling the nation’s educational system, which Babasaheb Ambedkar termed the “most powerful tool for equality.”
He went on to assert that the 'Not Found Suitable' category is an assault on the Constitution and emphasized that this issue extends beyond Delhi University, indicating a similar agenda to deny Dalits their rights across all Central Universities, including IITs and IIMs.
“In Delhi University, over 60% of the reserved Professor posts and more than 30% of reserved Associate Professor positions remain unfilled, labeled as 'NFS.' This is not an isolated incident; a similar conspiracy is unfolding in IITs and Central Universities alike,” he stated.
In the video, Gandhi is seen telling students that the core of the 'Hindutva project' aims to erase the historical narrative of SCs, STs, and OBCs.
“Why is 90% of history omitted from our textbooks? Why do we only see 10%? Why is there no mention of the fact that for 3,000 years, Dalits have faced severe discrimination?” LoP Gandhi questioned.
He assured students that if Congress regains power, it will abolish the 50% cap on the quota system, ensuring equitable representation, as “reservation is a right.”
He urged, “Reservation is a fundamental right. Congress-ruled states have demonstrated this approach, paving the way for social justice.”
The former Congress President also vowed to combat the anti-reservation initiatives of the BJP and RSS, leveraging the Constitution while expressing confidence that students will actively participate in the defense of reservation rights.
