This occurred following a shootout on the Ambala-Dera Bassi highway, as reported by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on Wednesday.
The individuals taken into custody have been named as Sharanjit Singh, hailing from Mohali, and Aman Kumar from Khijargarh village in Zirakpur.
Authorities also seized two .32 caliber pistols along with ten cartridges from the suspects.
DGP Yadav indicated that initial inquiries suggest the duo were implicated in a recent shooting incident in Rajpura town that transpired last month.
The accused were allegedly assigned by Goldy Dhillon to target a businessman in Punjab.
Additional Director General of Police (AGTF) Promod Ban stated that Goldy Dhillon was also the orchestrator behind the daylight assassination of an Indian-origin industrialist from British Columbia, Abbotsford, Canada, which occurred in October.
Deputy Inspector General (AGTF) Gurmeet Singh Chauhan revealed that both suspects have prior criminal records, including two FIRs related to weapon offenses against Aman.
Senior Superintendent of Police Harmandeep Hans shared that actionable intelligence regarding the movement of the two Lawrence Bishnoi operatives was received.
Acting promptly, joint forces from AGTF and Mohali Police, led by DSP Bikramjit Brar, intercepted and captured them.
During the operation, the suspects fired at the police in a bid to escape.
However, both suspects received gunshot wounds in the return fire.
A case was filed on November 12 under pertinent sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 25 of the Arms Act in Mohali.
