Jaipur, June 25 (NationPress) Congress leader Ashok Gehlot on Wednesday claimed that there is a deliberate scheme to remove Bhajanlal Sharma from the position of Chief Minister.
While speaking to reporters at the Jodhpur Circuit House, Gehlot stated, "A plot is in motion to unseat Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. Certain leaders from his party, who are operating between Delhi and Rajasthan, are involved in this. The planning has been thoroughly executed. We have attempted to alert him, yet he remains oblivious to it."
Gehlot voiced his worries for CM Sharma, saying, "He is new to this role as Chief Minister. We think he deserves an adequate opportunity. However, the circumstances in Rajasthan are grave. Some members of his own party are working against him instead of lending support."
When addressing inquiries regarding the opposition's criticism, Gehlot clarified, "We cannot make unfounded accusations against him since it has only been a year and a half since this government took office. We are merely sharing truths that the public is already discussing."
Bhajanlal Sharma, the MLA from Sanganer, triumphed in the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly elections, defeating the Congress candidate Pushpendra Bhardwaj by a margin of 48,081 votes.
A Brahmin leader from Bharatpur, CM Sharma holds a Master's degree in Political Science and is recognized for his long-standing ties with the BJP.
He has been the party's State General Secretary four times and is regarded as being closely associated with both the BJP's core organization and the RSS.
In the last elections, Bhajanlal Sharma was nominated from the secure Sanganer seat, indicating significant confidence in his leadership.
Interestingly, on Monday, Chief Minister Sharma stated, "Our one and a half years of governance have exceeded their (Congress) five-year term in effectiveness."
The Chief Minister accused Congress of taking advantage of the underprivileged under the slogan 'Garibi Hatao'.
