Mumbai, Feb 1 (NationPress) Filmmaker-producer Subhash Ghai, renowned for his cinematic works like ‘Karz’, ‘Hero’, ‘Taal’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, and others, extended heartfelt birthday wishes to actor Jackie Shroff on his milestone 68th birthday.
On Saturday, the celebrated actor took to his Instagram account, posting a nostalgic picture featuring himself alongside Jackie and Madhuri Dixit. He recounted an intriguing story highlighting how Jackie, a major star, stepped in to uplift Madhuri’s confidence during her audition for one of Subhash Ghai’s films.
In the caption, he reminisced, “When a star auditions alongside a budding talent? In 1984, when I invited Jackie Shroff, the prominent star of ‘Hero’ and ‘Karma’, to accompany Madhuri Dixit in her first audition for Mukta Arts, he readily came forward to cheer her on, expressing his admiration and calling her a beautiful discovery. Today, as I celebrate his birthday, I feel immense love and pride for Jackie, who has always been the kindest star to his juniors and remains grateful to his seniors. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKIE SHROFF and may you always enjoy a life filled with joy and kindness. You are our beloved star forever (sic).”
Previously, Subhash Ghai was hospitalized at Lilavati Hospital in the Bandra area of Mumbai. He later released a public statement expressing gratitude to his well-wishers for their concern.
He assured everyone that “All is well now,” and that the health scare was primarily due to his demanding schedule at the 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa.
The filmmaker-producer shared on his X account, formerly Twitter, “I feel incredibly blessed to have so many friends expressing their love and concern for my health after my busy time at IFFI Goa. ALL IS WELL NOW and I look forward to seeing you all soon. SMILE AGAIN. Thank you (sic).”
Subhash Ghai began his Bollywood journey as an actor, taking on small roles in films like ‘Taqdeer’ and ‘Aaradhna’. He later starred in lead roles in movies such as ‘Umang’ and ‘Gumrah’, but faced limited success, prompting him to transition to directing.
He is celebrated for creating iconic films such as ‘Kalicharan’, ‘Vishwanath’, ‘Karz’, ‘Hero’, ‘Vidhaata’, ‘Meri Jung’, ‘Karma’, ‘Ram Lakhan’, ‘Saudagar’, ‘Khalnayak’, ‘Pardes’, and ‘Taal’.
In 2006, he was honored with the National Film Award for Best Film on Other Social Issues for producing the socially relevant film ‘Iqbal’. That same year, he established the Whistling Woods International film and media institution in Mumbai.
