Mehsana (Gujarat), March 22 (NationPress) — Over the last three days, Gujarat has witnessed remarkable development initiatives valued at approximately Rs 2,500 crore, as announced by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Sunday. During this period, he specifically launched and unveiled projects worth over Rs 938 crore in the Mehsana district.
At the event dubbed ‘Mahimavant Mehsana’ held in Visnagar, Patel laid the groundwork for projects exceeding Rs 630 crore, initiated ground-breaking for developments worth over Rs 168 crore, and inaugurated finished projects valued at Rs 140 crore.
Patel emphasized that these ventures will mark significant milestones in the district’s developmental journey.
“Gujarat has established itself as a leader in financial governance, ensuring an abundance of financial resources within the state. Every feasible proposal emerging from Mehsana will be prioritized and sanctioned,” he stated.
He pointed out, “In just the last three days, we have inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects totaling more than Rs 2,500 crore across Gujarat.”
Moreover, he mentioned that enhancements in infrastructure, such as the doubling of the Mehsana–Palanpur railway line and the long-awaited approval of the Taranga–Ambaji railway line, will bolster economic activities in the area.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government's dedication to transforming Vadnagar, the birthplace of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, into a world-class heritage destination.
Projects like the Prerna School, an archaeological museum, and the redevelopment of the railway station were highlighted during his address.
Additionally, Patel revealed that the MoUs worth Rs 3.24 lakh crore signed during the North Gujarat Regional Vibrant Summit in Mehsana showcase the district's industrial capabilities and its rise as a food processing hub.
During the event, nutrition kits were distributed to expectant mothers, and attendees pledged to support 'Swadeshi' initiatives.
State Energy and Petrochemicals Minister Rushikesh Patel remarked that the government is advancing developmental projects in alignment with the national vision.
“The Chief Minister is rapidly carrying forward the development agenda initiated by the Prime Minister,” he remarked.
Speaking about farmer support measures, he mentioned, “The state government has introduced a Rs 11,000 crore package for farmers, with over Rs 250 crore already credited directly to the accounts of farmers in Mehsana as compensation for crop losses.”
He also noted enhancements in healthcare infrastructure with new sub-district hospitals in Vijapur and Kheralu, while in education, new colleges and facilities for competitive exam preparation have been established alongside M.N. Science College.
“The government is devoted to elevating the quality of life for every individual in society,” he remarked, adding that the project to install underground power lines for wire-free cities is nearing completion in municipalities like Unjha.
He further mentioned that integrating contemporary amenities with heritage sites, such as the Sun Temple in Modhera and Vadnagar, will significantly contribute to achieving the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat @2047’ for Gujarat.
