Ahmedabad, Dec 11 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, officially opened the Regional AI Impact Conference at Mahatma Mandir, located in Gandhinagar. He asserted that under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Artificial Intelligence has transitioned from merely a technological instrument to a national mission dedicated to advancement.
In attendance were Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and Science and Technology Minister Arjun Modhwadia.
While addressing the audience, the Chief Minister highlighted that AI is enhancing citizen welfare, boosting transparency, and propelling Gujarat toward becoming a future-ready state.
He introduced the Gujarat Unified Digital Stack, designed to make digital governance more intelligent, quicker, and profoundly centered on citizens.
This initiative allows for unified data-sharing across various departments, enabling citizens to access all services on a single platform, while real-time analytics aim to enhance the effectiveness of government schemes.
During the event, the Chief Minister also launched the Gujarat AI Stack, which includes six plug-and-play AI tools for governance: Agriculture AI, scheme eligibility verifications, a procurement chatbot, a grievance classifier, document extraction tools, and chat management solutions.
In addition, the Gujarat Cloud Adoption Guidelines 2025 were revealed to bolster the security, scalability, and AI readiness of digital governance, facilitating access to MeitY-empanelled cloud services and national GPU compute.
The state government also inked two significant memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Google and Bhashini, focusing on multilingual AI, creating Gujarati language models, and enhancing digital public services.
Furthermore, initiatives are underway with GIFT City and Henox to establish a Cable Landing Station in Gujarat, which will enable global digital connectivity and fortify green data center infrastructure.
The conference, organized as a precursor to India’s upcoming AI Impact Summit 2026, featured an AI Experience Zone where the Chief Minister explored various startup exhibits.
CM Patel underscored that Gujarat has consistently pioneered technology-driven development, asserting that AI will empower various sectors including agriculture, health, governance, and urban-rural transformation. This will significantly bolster the vision of Viksit Gujarat @ 2047 and contribute to Viksit Bharat.
Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi remarked that Gujarat is set to become the epicenter of India's AI revolution.
He emphasized that AI is not just a domain but a new energy source invigorating every sector. He highlighted successful AI initiatives throughout Gujarat, such as FASAL AI in agriculture, the SIMBA project for wildlife protection, AI enhancements in GSRTC, and innovative applications in policing, including child reunification during the Ahmedabad Rath Yatra and the inaugural AI-driven anti-narcotics operation in Dahod.
