Gandhinagar, Nov 1 (NationPress) The historic town of Vadnagar in Gujarat's Mehsana district, the birthplace of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is poised to achieve a significant milestone in its evolution as a global tourism and cultural hub.

Under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state government has unveiled plans for the Vrindavan Gauchar Park, which will be the first integrated cow-centric rural development initiative in India.

With an estimated budget of Rs 15 crore, this project seeks to elevate Vadnagar into a revered Tirthdham (spiritual destination) focused on cow welfare while serving as an international benchmark for sustainable rural innovation.

The Vrindavan Gauchar Park will be developed near Gaurikund in Amarthol, going beyond the conventional concept of a cowshed.

This facility will incorporate modern veterinary services, milk processing units, sustainable grazing strategies, and research facilities to establish a harmonious blend of tradition and technology.

Featuring CCTV surveillance, a protective wall, and a specialized veterinary hospital, the park will prioritize the welfare of cattle and provide visitors with insights into India's advancing rural ecosystem.

Additionally, the initiative includes breeding programs for high-quality indigenous cattle and aims to create a tourism-friendly environment that attracts visitors from both India and abroad.

The Gujarat Urban Development Company will act as the lead agency for this project, managing planning, infrastructure, and collaboration with local and district authorities.

The park's vision extends beyond animal welfare; it seeks to establish a cow-centric economic and social framework, resonating with the Prime Minister's overarching vision of "Gramoday se Bharat Uday" (From the Rise of Villages to the Rise of India).

Officials characterize this endeavor as a "Rural Innovation Hub", aiming to foster dairy entrepreneurship, biogas and organic fertilizer production, and women's empowerment through active participation in the dairy and cooperative sectors.

By enhancing cattle health, boosting productivity, and facilitating the sale of dairy products, this initiative is set to elevate farmers' incomes and generate new employment opportunities across veterinary, dairy, and transport sectors.

Beyond economic advancement, the Vrindavan Gauchar Park will be a confluence of heritage, culture, and ecology.

The park will integrate Vadnagar's rich heritage—from its ancient temples and stepwells to historic forts—into a newly established tourism circuit.

Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a blend of agritourism, sustainable energy practices, and cultural preservation within one cohesive space.

Future plans also include dedicated marketplaces for local artisans, handicrafts, and traditional cuisine, providing a direct benefit to the local economy.
