Key Takeaways
Gandhinagar/Tharad, Jan 25 (NationPress) The recently established Vav-Tharad district in Gujarat is set to welcome a state-of-the-art District Seva Sadan, as Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel performed the 'bhoomi pujan' for the initiative in Tharad on Sunday.
This facility will be built on a sprawling 39 acres with an estimated investment of approximately Rs 70 crore, according to officials.
The event coincides with the Vav-Tharad district's preparations to host the state-level festivities for the 77th Republic Day for the very first time.
During his address, Chief Minister Patel emphasized that the District Seva Sadan model is designed to enhance accessibility to government services for the public.
“Our goal is to provide a range of services from multiple government departments at a single venue, allowing citizens to save time and resources while enhancing administrative effectiveness,” he stated.
This initiative reflects the state government’s commitment, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of efficient governance, to fortify administrative structures at district headquarters.
As part of this effort, new districts are being equipped with integrated service centers to streamline public service delivery. The upcoming District Seva Sadan in Vav-Tharad will feature the office of the District Collector, along with over 30 district-level offices of various state government departments.
According to officials, this integration is anticipated to minimize the necessity for citizens to travel to multiple offices across different locations for routine administrative tasks.
District Collector J.S. Prajapati remarked that the project would greatly benefit the predominantly rural community. “Once operational, residents will have access to most government services under one roof, thereby expediting and simplifying administrative processes,” he noted.
The construction will adhere to green building standards. Planned amenities for the complex include a solar rooftop system, rainwater harvesting facilities, a large meeting hall, modern elevator systems, and basement parking.
Officials indicated that these elements are aimed at promoting sustainability and efficient resource use.
District In-charge Secretary Nagarajan, District Development Officer Kartik Jivani, Roads and Buildings Secretary P.R. Pateliya, and Special Secretary J.A. Gandhi were also present at the ceremony.
Superintending Engineer L.D. Chaudhary and Executive Engineer Tejas Mangukiya provided the dignitaries with insights into the project’s technical aspects.
Deodar MLA Keshaji Chauhan stated that the establishment of the District Seva Sadan represents a significant advancement in bolstering administrative facilities in the area.
Officials confirmed that construction will begin shortly and will be closely monitored to ensure timely completion in line with established standards.
