Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Ahmedabad, Dec 9 (NationPress) Gujarat is poised to unveil a significant statewide event dedicated to honoring women's leadership and grassroots entrepreneurship, known as the 'Sashakt Naari Mela', slated for December 11 to 23.
The event will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Palanpur, Banaskantha, launching a 13-day initiative to highlight the vital contributions of women across various sectors.
In alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for Aatmanirbhar Bharat, this initiative will spotlight women-led development and indigenous empowerment, featuring district-level melas that showcase the efforts of women entrepreneurs, Lakhpati Didis, Drone Didis, self-help groups (SHGs), women farmers, cooperatives, startups, and professionals who are instigating transformative changes at the grassroots level.
Larger districts will accommodate 100 exhibition stalls, while smaller districts will host 50 stalls, providing a platform for women to display their products, skills, and innovations.
The aim is to elevate women-led economic and social empowerment by promoting local handicrafts, SHG products, food processing units, millet-based items, and indigenous enterprises.
Dedicated information counters will be available to provide insights on government schemes, financial inclusion, startup support, digital literacy, nutrition, and skill development.
The mela will also feature motivational talk shows with women political leaders, senior officials, entrepreneurs, and influencers discussing swadeshi entrepreneurship, leadership, and digital opportunities.
A district-level award ceremony will honor Lakhpati Didis, Drone Didis, progressive women farmers, and female achievers from various fields. Networking sessions, including buyer-seller meetings, e-commerce connections, and bank/NBFC assistance, will facilitate wider market access and credit opportunities for women entrepreneurs.
In accordance with Good Governance Week, the Har Ghar Swadeshi campaign, and the Viksit Gujarat @ 2047 roadmap, the 'Sashakt Naari Mela' aims to cultivate a robust ecosystem of women-led micro-enterprises, enhance indigenous brands, raise awareness of welfare schemes, and bolster digital and financial empowerment.
This statewide initiative is anticipated to establish a district-wide network of emerging women leaders, reaffirming Gujarat’s dedication to inclusive development spearheaded by women.
