Gandhinagar, Sep 15 (NationPress) The 75th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17 will herald the commencement of the nationwide 'Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar' (Healthy Women, Empowered Families) campaign. The ceremony will take place at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, attended by Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
According to Gujarat Health Minister Rushikesh Patel, this initiative will unfold in Gujarat from September 17 to October 2, featuring over 1.41 lakh health camps throughout the state.
These camps will comprise 10,849 specialist camps and 1,30,188 screening camps, offering complimentary health services to women, children, and the general public.
Specialists in various fields, including cardiology, oncology, and nephrology, will participate in this initiative, ensuring a holistic approach to healthcare.
Primary services in this campaign will include antenatal and postnatal care, immunization, adolescent health focusing on anemia and menstrual hygiene, screening and treatment for non-communicable diseases such as diabetes and hypertension, and detection of oral, cervical, and breast cancers, as well as sickle cell and tuberculosis screenings. Mental health consultations, along with eye, ENT, and dental check-ups, will also be offered.
Moreover, the program will emphasize awareness regarding obesity, organ and body donation, Ayush services, geriatric care, and connections to the Ayushman Bharat and Vay Vandana schemes.
The state government has declared that all diagnostic tests—including X-rays, sonography, MRI, CT scans, and laboratory tests—will be free of charge at government health facilities during this fortnight.
Follow-up tests, as prescribed by doctors at these camps, will also remain complimentary within the designated timeframe.
A mega blood donation drive is scheduled for the launch day at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and across 600 venues statewide, promoting the campaign's vision of preventative healthcare and community involvement.
This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Health and Family Welfare Department and the Women and Child Development Department, with district-level mega camps in regions like Rajkot alongside extensive medical outreach.
Minister Patel has urged the community, especially women and families, to fully utilize the services available during this fortnight, which aims to treat and prevent illnesses while enhancing public health awareness.
