Chennai, Jan 30 (NationPress) One of the most talented actors in Tamil cinema, Guru Somasundaram, who gained recognition for his lead role in the National Award-winning and critically acclaimed film Joker, has announced for the first time that he will personally promote his newly released film 'Bottle Radha'.

In a detailed post on Instagram titled, ‘I am promoting Bottle Radha MYSELF’, Guru shared his thoughts.

Mentioning some of the iconic roles he has portrayed in films like Mannar Mannan in Joker, Kaalayan in Aranya Kaandam, Muthu Master in Jigarthanda, Shibu in Minnal Murali, and Rajendran in Kudumbasthan, he included the character from Bottle Radha in this esteemed list.

He expressed, “I am confident in my extensive experience within Tamil cinema through diverse characters. I select my roles carefully and dedicate myself to thorough preparation. What you see on screen is not just luck or talent. I trained in theatre acting at Koothupattarai for over ten years and willingly placed myself in challenging situations before the camera. I consider myself very professional. Typically, I act in films, participate in promotional events, and then return to rest. (I struggle with insomnia - during shoots, I often need medication to sleep). This is my first experience writing personally to promote my film and myself.”

He expressed gratitude towards director Mysskin, noting that he connected deeply with the video in which the director offered an apology.

Guru articulated his desire for audiences to see Bottle Radha.

He stated, “Bottle Radha is meant for everyone. I believe it’s vital for all to view this film, as it is easy to dismiss or label a movie that tackles a specific social issue.

“You don’t need to be an alcoholic to appreciate this film. As Bharadwaj Rangan pointed out in his review, 'being one' and 'being with one' provides significant insight! We should come together as a community to experience this movie.

It’s a beautifully crafted love story that evokes both laughter and tears. You must witness the outstanding performance of Sanchana Natarajan on the big screen. Beyond alcoholism, we are plagued by a disease called 'lack of empathy'. This film compels you to empathize with others. Only someone with profound empathy for humanity, nature, and cinema could create this film. Special thanks to Dhinakar Sivalingam. Please come and watch Bottle Radha in theaters. It’s a remarkable film.”

His heartfelt message has resonated with film enthusiasts and fans, who have shown their support for him.
