Hockey India on Monday, 21 July announced a 20-member men's squad for the FIH Hockey World Cup to be held in Belgium and the Netherlands from 15 to 30 August, naming ace defender and drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh as captain. The goalkeeping berths go to Mohith HS and Suraj Karkera. The defensive unit is built around captain Harmanpreet, alongside Jarmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Jugraj Singh, Sanjay, Sumit, and Yashdeep Siwach.

Pool D Draw and Match Schedule

India have been placed in Pool D alongside England, Pakistan, and Wales, with all pool-stage matches scheduled at Amstelveen, Netherlands. The campaign opens against Wales on 15 August, followed by England on 17 August, and the high-voltage clash against arch-rivals Pakistan on 19 August — widely regarded as the most anticipated fixture of the pool stage.
