New Delhi, Aug 20 (NationPress) Hockey India has officially revealed its 18-member squad for the upcoming Men’s Asia Cup, which is set to take place at the newly established Rajgir Hockey Stadium in Bihar from August 29 to September 7. The experienced drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh will retain his role as captain for this prestigious continental event. The selected team showcases a formidable blend of seasoned players, ensuring depth and balance in all aspects of the game.
As a qualifier for the FIH Hockey World Cup Belgium-Netherlands 2026, India finds itself in Pool A alongside Japan, China, and Kazakhstan. The team will kick off its journey against China on August 29, followed by matches against Japan on August 31 and Kazakhstan on September 1.
The goalkeeping responsibilities will be handled by the reliable Krishan B Pathak and Suraj Karkera. In the defensive lineup, captain Harmanpreet and Amit Rohidas will be supported by Jarmanpreet Singh, Sumit, Sanjay, and Jugraj Singh, providing a solid foundation at the back.
