Mumbai, Dec 11 (NationPress) The iconic Bollywood actress Hema Malini was visibly moved during the prayer gathering held in memory of her late husband, the legendary actor Dharmendra. This poignant gathering took place on December 11 in Delhi, where Hema addressed the attendees who came to pay their final tributes to the esteemed star.

During her heartfelt address, Hema Malini was overcome with emotion, expressing her grief while beginning her speech with a spiritual invocation, reciting a Sanskrit shloka. "Radhe Radhe Vasudeva Sutam Devam, Sansa Chanuram Ardhanam, Devaki Paramanandam, Krishnam Vande Jagadguru," she recited.

Reflecting on her beloved husband, Hema shared, "Today, while we hold this prayer meeting, I am engulfed in emotion welcoming all of you. I never thought I would have to conduct a prayer meeting for my Dharamji. The world mourns his departure, but for me, it is an irreversible shock. It's as if a bond that weathered every storm has abruptly been taken from me."

Praising Dharmendra, she remarked, "He was a man of boundless kindness, known for his simplicity and compassion. The man I starred alongside in numerous romantic films became my partner for life. Our love was genuine, and it was that truth that gave us the strength to confront every challenge together, eventually leading to our marriage."

Describing him as a wonderful life companion, Hema added, "He was a devoted partner, an unwavering source of inspiration, always there at every moment. He wholeheartedly supported my choices. To our daughters, Esha and Ahana, he was a nurturing father, showering them with love and ensuring they married at the right time. He was a remarkable grandfather as well. Our five grandchildren adored him and were completely enamored by their Nanu. He found his greatest joy in their company, often referring to our family as 'this is our beautiful garden, always tend to it with love and patience.'"

Hema also emphasized how humble and kind Dharmendra was to everyone, including her relatives. "All my family members—my mother, aunt, brothers, sister-in-law, and their children—cherished him deeply. He was a vital part of all our lives."

The prayer meet also saw the presence of notable figures, including Kangana Ranaut and Ravi Kishan, along with various politicians who came to pay their respects. This gathering, organized by Hema, Esha, and Ahana, followed a prayer meet held by Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol, just a few days prior on December 8, marking their father's birth anniversary.

For those unaware, Dharmendra passed away on November 24, a loss that plunged the entire nation into sorrow.
