New Delhi, Feb 28 (NationPress) Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and the Himachal Pradesh government are under intense scrutiny from Hindu religious leaders and political factions regarding their purported attempt to acquire funds from temples to support government initiatives.

Hindu leaders have denounced the decision, labeling it a direct assault on religious institutions.

Jagadguru Paramhans Acharya Maharaj from Ayodhya Dham criticized the initiative, asserting, "Those who previously dismissed Lord Ram as a mere myth are now begging temples for donations to rectify their financial situation. The same Congress members who have disrespected Hindu deities are now turning to temples for monetary assistance."

"Have they ever had the courage to request funds from madrasas, mosques, or churches?" he challenged.

"If the government is financially troubled, they should approach Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Vadra for help. They ought to tap into their wealth, dismantle their extravagant properties, and allocate that money instead. Temple offerings are for the devotees, intended for worship and service, not for government spending," he added.

Sant Diwakaracharya Maharaj from Ayodhya Dham also called for CM Sukhu’s resignation, stating, "I urge Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu to resign without delay. The Congress party and the CM lack both the will and capability to govern effectively."

"For over 62 years, the Congress has promoted an agenda fostering jihad, fatwas, and terrorism. Now, Sukhu has plunged Himachal Pradesh into financial disaster, making it akin to Pakistan," he asserted.

"His credibility is non-existent, and he must step down. The Congress needs to apologize to the populace for this shameful action," Sant Diwakaracharya Maharaj stated.

Raju Das, Pujari and Mahant of Hanumangarhi, Ayodhya, also vehemently opposed the action.

"It is regrettable that the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh has sought temple funds. India’s Hindu majority is being systematically targeted," he remarked.

"Over 400,000 temples have already been commandeered by various governments, and the remaining ones are at risk," Raju Das noted.

He further claimed that the Congress has consistently shown animosity towards Sanatan traditions, stating, "The government has deprived temples of their constitutional rights while disregarding other religious institutions. This represents a direct attack on Hindu customs and beliefs."

Earlier, former Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jairam Thakur also condemned the Sukhu administration, deeming the action hypocritical.

"Congress leaders have persistently targeted Sanatan Dharma, yet they now attempt to exploit temple trust funds to prop up their failing welfare programs. This is outright opportunism and an affront to the faith of millions," he claimed.
