Hyderabad, Sep 10 (NationPress) Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday paid homage to Telangana's revolutionary leader Chityala Ailamma, widely revered as Chakali Ailamma, on the anniversary of her passing.
During his visit to New Delhi, CM Revanth Reddy laid floral tributes at Ailamma's portrait and reflected on her heroic fight.
He praised Chakali Ailamma as an emblem of resistance against oppression and tyranny.
The Chief Minister remarked that Ailamma boldly raised the banner of revolt against feudal arrogance and authoritarianism almost 80 years ago on Telangana soil.
CM Revanth Reddy pointed out that the statue of Telangana Thalli was inspired by legendary women including Sammakka, Sarakka, and Chakali Ailamma.
Participating in the event were Members of Parliament P. Balram Naik and Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka also honored Ailamma, stating that she exemplified the resilience and fighting spirit of the Telangana populace in her struggle for land, sustenance, and liberation from forced labor.
Minister for Industries and Information Technology D. Sridhar Babu expressed his respect for Ailamma's unyielding courage and fearless spirit.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao also paid his respects to Ailamma. He acknowledged her vital role in the Telangana armed peasant struggle, reflecting the fighting spirit of the region.
KTR referred to Ailamma as a revolutionary firebrand igniting the first land struggle, rebelling for land and livelihood while challenging the anti-people regime.
He announced that the KCR government has resolved to officially commemorate Chakali Ailamma Jayanti each year to pass on her struggles and sacrifices to future generations.
Telangana Jagruthi president K. Kavitha also honored Ailamma, affirming that she symbolizes the power of Telangana women and the courage of the masses.
