New Delhi, July 5 (NationPress) The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced a Red Alert for exceptionally heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh on July 6, especially in the districts of Kangra, Sirmaur, and Mandi. This warning follows a tumultuous week, during which heavy rains and multiple cloudbursts have resulted in at least 69 fatalities and left 37 individuals missing in the hilly region.
The Red Alert has been issued in preparation for the peak intensity of the monsoon expected on July 6 and 7. An Orange Alert is also in effect for Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Solan, Shimla, and Kullu districts, urging residents and authorities to maintain a heightened state of alert.
