The Union Minister was in the island nation this week for the fourth round of negotiations regarding the free trade agreement.
"I concluded my productive visit to New Zealand with a meeting with my esteemed counterpart, Todd McClay," Goyal shared in a post on his social media account.
"The fourth round of discussions on the India-New Zealand FTA centered on market access for goods, services, economic and technical cooperation, as well as investment opportunities," he elaborated.
The minister also held numerous discussions with business leaders from both nations, further fortifying people-to-people relationships.
"During my trip, I engaged with business leaders from both India and New Zealand, participating in various events that showcase the strong cultural and personal ties between our countries," he remarked.
Earlier, Goyal indicated that the negotiating teams from both countries are focused on creating a future-ready and balanced trade agreement that honors their mutual sensitivities while enhancing economic connections, paving the way for new paths of collaboration, and uncovering fresh opportunities for businesses and consumers alike.
The minister had an in-depth review of the ongoing FTA talks with his New Zealand counterpart, Todd McClay, and the chief negotiators from both nations.
During his visit, he participated in the India-New Zealand CEOs Roundtable alongside McClay in Rotorua, the latter's hometown located on New Zealand's North Island.
"It was heartening to see many of the business leaders at the Roundtable being of Indian descent. I encouraged New Zealand companies to deepen their engagement with the Indian industry in this collaborative journey, which promises mutual benefits and long-term value for both sides," Goyal stated.
He emphasized India's rapidly transforming economic landscape and illustrated how enhanced collaboration in sectors such as technology, agriculture, education, clean energy, and sustainability can reveal new growth opportunities.
"Thank you, my friend Todd McClay, for your warm hospitality in your stunning hometown of Rotorua. Together, we are preparing to elevate India-New Zealand relations to new heights," Goyal posted on social media.
