New Delhi, April 17 (NationPress) Emphasizing India's expanding production capabilities, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated on Thursday that India now stands alongside developed nations in key sectors such as missile technology (Agni, BrahMos), submarines (INS Arihant), aircraft carriers (INS Vikrant), artificial intelligence, drones, and cyber defence.

During a program, Rajnath Singh articulated his vision of a self-sufficient and future-ready nation, asserting: "With a clear emphasis on indigenization, innovation, and global leadership, India is not only fortifying its borders but is also establishing itself as a pivotal player in the global defence landscape."

He proclaimed, "The day is near when India will not only be recognized as a developed nation, but our military strength will also rank as the number one globally."

The Defence Minister reiterated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, revitalizing and enhancing the defence sector remains a top priority for the government.

He pointed out that the primary challenge for the government is to shift the perception that India must rely solely on imports for its defence requirements.

"India will diminish its dependence on imports and establish a defence industrial complex that will not only cater to domestic needs but will also bolster the potential for defence exports," he emphasized.

He added that while India's defence sector is progressing towards self-reliance, it is also poised to play a significant role in ensuring the resilience of global supply chains.

Furthermore, the Defence Minister mentioned that the Make in India initiative is not just enhancing the country's defence production but is also aiding in making the global defence supply chain more robust and flexible.

Rajnath Singh remarked that while India's defence manufacturing capabilities are directed towards national security and strategic autonomy, they also shield manufacturing from international supply disruptions.

He emphasized that India's escalating defence capabilities are not intended to incite conflict.

"Our defence capabilities serve as a credible deterrent, essential for maintaining peace and stability. Peace can only be sustained when we remain strong," he concluded.
