New Delhi, April 2 (NationPress) India is swiftly harnessing the capabilities of agentic artificial intelligence (AI), with over 80% of companies actively investigating the development of autonomous agents, according to a recent report released on Wednesday.
This transition towards agentic AI marks a notable change in how organizations are integrating AI technologies, as they seek avenues to enhance operations and boost efficiency, as highlighted in a report by Deloitte.
Agentic AI refers to AI systems that function independently, making decisions and taking actions with minimal to no human involvement. These systems are usually tailored to achieve specific goals and can adjust to evolving circumstances.
The report indicates a rising interest in multi-agent workflows, a model where various goal-driven sub-agents operate under the supervision of a master agent to execute tasks autonomously, without requiring constant oversight.
Approximately 50% of companies have pinpointed multi-agent workflows as a crucial focus area, showcasing their intention to utilize AI for more intricate and automated tasks.
Furthermore, 70% of companies are keen to implement GenAI (generative AI) for automation, further underscoring the growing incorporation of AI-driven systems across various sectors.
This trend reflects a larger movement towards increased innovation and investment in AI, with 61% of firms conducting more than 10 GenAI experiments.
The report also notes that Indian businesses are already witnessing considerable advantages from adopting GenAI.
Over 67% of companies reported that GenAI has positively influenced all phases of the software development lifecycle.
Nearly 70% of organizations stated their AI integration efforts have either met or surpassed their anticipated return on investment (ROI).
Key departments such as IT, customer service, marketing, operations, and product development are spearheading the adoption of AI, as per the report.
“As Indian firms delve into agentic and GenAI, the pathway to unlocking their potential lies in transitioning from experimentation to large-scale deployment,” said Moumita Sarker, Partner at Deloitte India.
