Jaipur, July 24 (NationPress) — Sachin Pilot, the National General Secretary of Congress and MLA from Tonk, has vehemently criticized the BJP-led government at both the central and state levels in Rajasthan. He accuses them of stifling the voices of farmers and marginalized communities while undermining constitutional institutions.

“They ascended to power through public support, yet they exhibit no concern for pressing issues such as fertiliser, electricity, water supply, or the minimum support price. Accountability is non-existent,” he stated.

During the inauguration of a Rs 10 lakh community hall and the laying of the foundation stone for a Rs 1.5 crore drainage and beautification project in Ward 56, Pilot emphasized the significance of the MNREGA scheme during the pandemic.

“This initiative was vital during the Covid-19 crisis. However, the BJP government is attempting to undermine it through bureaucratic obstacles,” he added.

He further condemned the government's indifference towards farmer compensation, the implementation of MSP, and the dismantling of the Mandi system. “While they are eager to introduce detrimental laws, they remain deaf to farmers' pleas for their fair entitlements,” he said.

The BJP seems prepared to enact anti-farmer laws, compromise the MSP framework, and dismantle the mandi system, yet they ignore farmers' requests for compensation, MSP enforcement, or crop bonuses.

Commenting on Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar's resignation, Pilot lambasted the BJP for initially taking credit for appointing someone from a farming background to a significant constitutional role, only to dismiss him later without due respect.

He accused the BJP and the central government of disregarding constitutional roles, institutions, and the Constitution itself, consistently eroding democratic principles.

Highlighting the internal chaos within the ruling party, he noted a significant disconnect between those in power and the party organization, to the point where they struggle to elect their own president.

He accused the BJP of catering to a select group of industrialists, claiming that their policies have exacerbated socioeconomic disparities, diminished job opportunities, and left educated youth facing an uncertain future.

In discussing development in Tonk, Pilot reassured that crucial infrastructure projects, including a medical college, a city park, Gehlod bridge, and an indoor stadium, are advancing swiftly.

“Regardless of which party holds power, public welfare resources will not be lacking,” he concluded.
