Sachin Pilot Engages with Farmers in Village Chaupal During Rajasthan Tour

Jaipur, Dec 5 (NationPress) Congress General Secretary and prior Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot progressed into the second day of his tour in the Tonk Assembly Constituency of Rajasthan on Thursday, stopping by several villages including Baroni, Govindpura (Hatouna), Charai (Soran), and Chimanpura (Bamor), where he interacted with the local populace.
Sachin Pilot also reviewed the ongoing development of the Mini Food Park in Sonwa (Tonk).
Previously, on Wednesday, Sachin Pilot spent the night at the residence of farmer Ratan Bairwa in Chimanpura.
During his visit, he embraced the rural ambiance, participating in the night chaupal alongside villagers and attentively listening to their concerns.
Rural women graciously welcomed Sachin Pilot with traditional melodies, and he was observed donning rural attire during the festivities.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Tonk MLA voiced his concerns regarding the BJP government's performance, asserting that despite being in power for more than a year, significant actions on critical issues such as employment, inflation, and law enforcement—areas the BJP had promised to address—have yet to materialize.
Pilot remarked that incidents of violence against women have surged, and the youth are skeptical about the commitments related to government job recruitments, indicating a substantial decline in public trust towards the BJP.
In his speech, Pilot reminisced about the Congress government's achievements at the national level, which empowered citizens through initiatives like MNREGA, Right to Information, Right to Education, and Right to Medical Care.
He contrasted these efforts with the BJP’s introduction of the three contentious agricultural laws, which were eventually repealed due to farmer protests.
Pilot also criticized the BJP government’s emphasis on divisive matters, such as temple-mosque conflicts, as a means to divert public attention from urgent issues like inflation, unemployment, farmers' grievances, and deteriorating law and order.
He accused the BJP of fostering community tensions to retain power, suggesting that where peace exists, development flourishes, while discord stifles progress.
Pilot further condemned the BJP's intention to postpone local body and Panchayat elections under the guise of ‘One Nation-One Election’, arguing that it serves as a tactic to install administrators and centralize authority.
He assured the villagers that the momentum of development and construction would persist uninterrupted in Tonk.
