The government announced this significant milestone on Monday.

India's team will compete alongside over 500 participants from nearly 40 Asian countries, spanning 38 skill categories.

The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) leads this delegation, which will engage in 21 skill categories, showcasing India’s growing prowess in global skills excellence.

The selection process for these competitors involved a stringent, multi-tier national evaluation conducted during the India Skills Competition 2024, recognized as the nation’s largest skill championship organized by NSDC.

Additionally, they underwent a comprehensive training program in partnership with industry leaders over the last five months, utilizing advanced labs, simulators, expert coaching, and real-world problem-solving settings to enhance their technical skills.

The WorldSkills India team also participated in an intensive four-day program focused on team-building and preparation, which included psychometric assessments, grooming sessions, communication training, neurotherapy, mindfulness practices, nutrition counseling, art and music therapy, and travel readiness workshops.

“The young athletes at World Skills Asia represent India’s emerging status as a global leader in skills,” stated Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Education.

India's involvement in this event underscores its commitment to achieving international standards, benchmarking globally, and enhancing world-class technical education through the Skill India Mission, with NSDC playing a crucial role in this endeavor.
