Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh), March 27 (NationPress) - Celebrating the auspicious Ram Navami festival, former litigant of the Babri Masjid case, Iqbal Ansari, graciously gifted a portrait of Lord Ram Lalla to the security personnel and numerous devotees present.
Ram Navami, which commemorates the birth of Lord Ram—the seventh incarnation of Vishnu—is observed during the nine-day Chaitra Navratri festival, serving as a time for introspection on values such as truth, compassion, and righteousness.
"This is the faith of Ayodhya. This is the prasad. I share it with everyone, including the security staff and visitors. It brings me joy to distribute it. This reflects my devotion to God," Ansari expressed in an interview with IANS.
"Today is Ram Navami; it’s a momentous occasion. The dedication of the devotees to Lord Ram brings them to Ayodhya, where they receive this sacred picture as prasad."
Ansari also emphasized the profound significance of Ayodhya.
"Ayodhya is a place of worship. It is the city of Lord Ram, a divine hub. Nowhere else in the world can you find a location like Ayodhya, as the Lord himself resides here," he stated.
Moreover, he stressed the importance of the 'Surya Tilak' ceremony at the Ram Temple held during Ram Navami.
This ritual, also known as Surya Abhishek, commenced in 2024 and has been a yearly tradition on Ram Navami, involving the sun's rays directly touching the deity's forehead, creating a divine ambiance in the temple.
Ansari mentioned, "This brings immense joy to everyone across the nation. All the devotees visiting from afar are delighted to perform 'darshan' of the Lord today."
On the same day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in the sacred 'Surya Tilak' ceremony for Ram Lalla via a virtual platform, offering prayers for the nation's well-being.
