Thiruvananthapuram, April 3 (NationPress) Former Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Smriti Irani expressed deep appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the enactment of the Women's Reservation Act on Friday. Reacting to the Central government's announcement of nearly eradicating Naxalism in the nation, she criticized the Left Party in India for promoting chaos and constitutional disorder.

In an interview with IANS, Smriti Irani stated, "Women, especially those striving for the political empowerment of their fellow citizens, have fought tirelessly for years to ensure this affirmative action is realized. I am profoundly thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for transforming this promise into a reality, and it is undoubtedly under his guidance that we will see true political equality established in India."

The Constitution (106th Amendment) Act, 2023, previously known as the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, allocates 33% reservation for women in the Lok Sabha, State Legislative Assemblies, and the Delhi Assembly, including seats reserved for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.

Regarding Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remarks in the Lok Sabha about the near-total elimination of Naxalism, Smriti Irani pointed out, "The evidence presented in Parliament clearly indicates that the Left Party stands for not just chaos but also constitutional anarchy."

She described Naxalism as a political entity established in India solely to undermine the nation and citizens' faith in the constitutional hierarchy and justice.

Expressing her views on the Left Party's history, she stated, "Considering their background, they are incapable of contributing to 'vikas' (development)."

While participating in a rally ahead of the April 9 Assembly elections in Kerala, Smriti Irani accused the ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) and the prior United Democratic Front (UDF) governments of fostering systematic corruption.

She highlighted, "I want to emphasize that both the LDF and UDF have become the champions of institutionalized corruption, particularly affecting the Christian community in Kerala. The youth of Kerala are leaving in search of better opportunities."

Smriti Irani also commented on the ongoing blame game between the Congress and CPI-M regarding alleged collusion with the BJP.

"This notion is not just a fallacy but a state of political delusion for both Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi," she remarked.

She further alleged, "Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra have never engaged in politics based on merit; they have not showcased any development initiatives and have resorted to slander instead."

Amid all this, Smriti Irani expressed optimism about the BJP's success in Kerala.

She stated, "We (BJP) are confident that under PM Modi's leadership, when the lotus blooms in Kerala, we will redefine development and set new benchmarks for the state."

Campaigning is also in full swing for Assembly elections in other states, including West Bengal.

Smriti Irani accused the current Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal of rampant corruption, asserting, "Corruption and Trinamool have become synonymous."
