Jaipur, Aug 20 (NationPress) In a significant development, investigation agencies in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, have taken another suspect into custody on espionage charges.
The individual, identified as Jeevan Khan (25), was apprehended on Tuesday for allegedly communicating with Pakistani numbers in the Army area located along the Jaisalmer–Jodhpur Road. Authorities confirmed that his mobile device contained multiple contacts registered to Pakistani numbers.
Khan, a local resident of Jaisalmer district, had previously worked in the Army area approximately 2–3 years ago and had recently returned to seek employment.
As per insider reports, he had been under surveillance by various agencies for a considerable period, with his communications and activities being closely monitored.
He is expected to be transferred to the Joint Investigation Committee for an extensive interrogation.
This apprehension occurs merely two weeks following the capture of Mahendra Prasad, the manager of the DRDO guest house in Jaisalmer, who faced allegations of leaking sensitive data regarding Army officials and visiting scientists to his Pakistani contacts.
On March 26, 2025, Rajasthan Intelligence apprehended Pathan Khan, a resident near Chandan Field Firing Range, under the Official Secrets Act, just before the Pahalgaon terror incident.
Moreover, on May 28 this year, Shakoor Khan, a Rajasthan government employee since 2000, was detained for espionage activities on behalf of Pakistan, culminating in a formal arrest on June 3.

Now, on August 19 of this year, Jeevan Khan has been arrested for communicating via Pakistani numbers from a restaurant situated within the Army area.
In light of 'Operation Sindoor'—implemented to dismantle terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir following a lethal attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam area, which resulted in 26 fatalities—security agencies have ramped up surveillance in Rajasthan's border districts.
Individuals maintaining connections across the border or utilizing Pakistani numbers are being closely monitored.
