Mumbai, Nov 11 (NationPress) Renowned lyricist Javed Akhtar recently became a victim of a misleading rumor regarding the legendary actor Dharmendra, which rapidly circulated across social media platforms.

The misunderstanding was swiftly addressed when Hema Malini, Dharmendra's wife, confirmed that he is indeed alive and rejected the false claims about his health. Expressing her frustration and disappointment over the spread of such misinformation, she firmly dismissed the rumors concerning the 89-year-old star's demise.

On Tuesday, Javed took to his X account to tweet, “With Dharm Ji, an era of the Indian film industry has come to its end. He was a perfect blend of masculinity and gentleness, dignity and humility, charm and strength. Anyone who looks at his body of work will know he was an actor for all seasons.”

“He was a kind-hearted and polite individual with a golden heart. My deepest condolences to the Deol family. Those of us who have had the privilege to work with him will always miss him,” the lyricist added.

Javed Akhtar has enjoyed a long-standing and warm relationship with Dharmendra, collaborating on numerous memorable projects throughout the years. Along with Salim Khan, Akhtar co-wrote the iconic film “Sholay,” featuring Dharmendra and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles. Their professional journey began in 1969 with “Yakeen,” where Akhtar penned the dialogues. This connection extends to Akhtar’s wife, Shabana Azmi, who has also worked with Dharmendra multiple times, most recently in “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.”

Meanwhile, false claims about Dharmendra’s death started circulating on social media late last night. However, the veteran actor’s family quickly intervened to dispel these rumors. Both Hema Malini and Esha Deol took to social media to issue strong statements, condemning media outlets for disseminating baseless and misleading information.

Hema Malini stated, “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and recovering? This is extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please show due respect to the family and their need for privacy.”

Esha Deol shared updates on her father’s health, confirming that he is stable and recovering well in the hospital. Esha wrote, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable & recovering. We request everyone to grant our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for papa’s speedy recovery. Esha Deol. (sic)”
