Patna, June 2 (NationPress) Following a statewide protest by the Bihar Congress regarding the tragic demise of a 10-year-old Dalit girl—reportedly due to medical negligence after a rape—JDU spokesperson and MLC Neeraj Kumar condemned the party for exploiting a delicate matter for political advantages.
In a press briefing in Patna on Monday, Kumar stated, “The Muzaffarpur rape case involving the young girl is incredibly tragic and unfortunate. Nonetheless, the Congress is misguided in conducting street protests when the administration has taken prompt action. The accused was apprehended quickly, and a fast-tracked trial is in motion. The government is resolute in providing justice for the victim's family.”
Addressing claims of medical negligence at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH)—where the girl allegedly passed away after being left in an ambulance for four hours—Kumar defended the hospital officials.
“The Deputy Superintendent of PMCH has already provided clarity on the sequence of events and the child's medical condition. CCTV footage verifies that she was admitted to the ICU,” he remarked.
Kumar called on opposition parties to cease spreading misinformation and to prioritize facts over emotions.
Additionally, he criticized Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge for questioning Operation Sindoor, an operation under which Indian forces purportedly dismantled terrorist frameworks in Pakistan.
“This inclination to doubt our armed forces signifies the Congress's flawed mindset and contributes to its political downfall. Operation Sindoor was a strategic achievement recognized by leaders across the political spectrum on international stages. Congress should celebrate such successes rather than undermine them,” he articulated.
On the potential candidacy of Union Minister Chirag Paswan in the upcoming 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, Kumar expressed optimism.
“Chirag Paswan is a vital component of the NDA. His candidacy in the assembly elections would only bolster our coalition. His intention to run from a general seat indicates his broad appeal across Bihar and his support for the NDA’s unified front,” he concluded.
