Ranchi, Aug 16 (NationPress) The funeral services for Jharkhand's Education Minister Ramdas Soren, who passed away late Friday night in New Delhi, took place today in Singhbhum. His remains were transported to the State Assembly on Saturday morning, where leaders from various political parties gathered to pay their final tributes.
Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar, Assembly Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahato, Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radha Krishna Kishore, along with numerous ministers, MPs, and MLAs, expressed their condolences and offered floral tributes to the departed leader.
Governor Gangwar referred to Soren’s passing as “an irreversible loss to the state,” while extending heartfelt condolences to his grieving family.
At the age of 55, Soren was undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Delhi following a brain stroke incurred 12 days prior. His body arrived in Ranchi around 10 a.m. and was taken directly to the Assembly premises for a final farewell. His last rites are set to be conducted today at his ancestral residence in Singhbhum.
Political leaders from all affiliations expressed their sorrow over his death. Mahua Maji, a Rajya Sabha MP, remarked, “Ramdas Soren was a committed advocate of the Jharkhand movement, dedicating his life to the marginalized. His absence creates a void that will be hard to fill.”
