In a statement released on X today, the Prime Minister remarked, "This cleanliness initiative is truly uplifting. I invite more individuals to partake in this campaign and contribute to its success."
The Prime Minister's plea for widespread involvement in the cleanliness initiative coincided with a day when numerous BJP leaders in Delhi took to the streets, armed with brooms, to tidy up public areas.
The Delhi BJP leaders initiated cleanliness efforts at 71 locations around flyovers, aligning with the Delhi government's Seva Pakhwada, a 15-day initiative celebrating the PM's birthday on September 17 through various social service and public welfare activities until October 2.
Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, alongside party workers and local Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation staff, ceremonially kicked off a cleanliness campaign at Rose Garden, the bus stop beneath the ITO flyover, and its nearby regions.
Municipal Councillor Ramkishore Sharma and Northeast District BJP President U.K. Chaudhary also participated in the initiative.
Sachdeva commented, "Enhancing the beauty of Delhi demands ongoing efforts; short-term campaigns are insufficient. Cleanliness must become a behavioral norm, and all citizens should unite for this cause."
At another location, the bus stop under the Safdarjung-Sarojini Nagar flyover and its vicinity saw the symbolic launch of the cleanliness drive by Delhi BJP media chief Praveen Shankar Kapoor, South Delhi district president Maya Bisht, Municipal Councillor Arun Bhati, and other BJP members, alongside local Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation personnel.
Delhi BJP's Organisation General Secretary, along with party workers and local Public Works Department and Municipal Corporation staff, ceremoniously initiated a cleanliness drive at Rajghat, the Rajghat bus stop, and adjacent areas.
