New Delhi, Sep 23 (NationPress) Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and her cabinet ministers participated in a widespread 'swachhta abhiyaan' across various locations in the national capital on Tuesday. They highlighted the significance of transforming this cleanliness initiative into a mass movement, showcasing how citizen involvement can lead to remarkable outcomes in making India clean, green, and healthy.

During the cleanliness campaign, ministers and numerous Delhi BJP leaders, along with party workers, actively removed waste and garbage from the Ring Road and other locations.

Speaking to the media, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta urged residents to avoid posting advertisements or writing on walls, as it detracts from the city's beauty.

"Let us unite and commit to making our capital clean, green, and prosperous," she stated.

Ministers such as Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Parvesh Saheb Singh, and Ashish Sood also shared images from the Swachh Delhi Abhiyaan on their social media accounts.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa took part in cleaning the Ring Road at Raja Garden Chowk, while Parvesh Saheb Singh participated in the drive in R.K. Puram. Ashish Sood contributed at Rajdhani College, and Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva cleared waste from the ITO stretch of the Ring Road.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa remarked, "Mahatma Gandhi believed that 'Cleanliness is even more important than freedom.' Today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has turned that inspiration into a people's movement. I take pride in saying that every Delhi resident is actively contributing to a Clean India."

Adding to the sentiment, Ashish Sood noted, "This campaign is a significant step towards making Delhi clean, beautiful, and inspiring. Cleanliness is service, and service is the ultimate means of nation-building."

Parvesh Verma stated, "This campaign transcends mere cleaning; it is a mega-effort to realize the vision of 'Swachh Bharat' through public involvement. Our aim is not just to remove dirt but to reinforce the foundation of a healthy, beautiful, and self-reliant India."

Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva expressed, "This initiative is a sincere effort to fulfill the Prime Minister's commitment to a Swachh Bharat" and encouraged citizens to pledge to maintain the cleanliness and greenery of the city.

This cleanliness campaign by the Delhi government is part of a two-week-long 'Seva Pakhwada', organized from September 17 to October 2, in honor of Prime Minister Modi's birthday.
