New Delhi, May 2 (NationPress) Chief Minister Rekha Gupta unveiled a detailed 20-day cleanliness initiative throughout the city, emphasizing that Delhi will see a noticeable transformation commencing Friday, with officials being directly accountable for maintaining the cleanliness of every street, park, footpath, and public area.
Launching the mission ‘Badal Rahi Hai Dilli’, CM Gupta announced on Thursday plans for an extensive cleanliness drive lasting 20 days.
In her address to the press, she stated: “For the first time, the government plans to conduct cleanliness efforts twice daily – once at 8 a.m. and again in the evening.”
This collective initiative aims to address challenges posed by various agencies, she noted, adding, “Thanks to the public, we have a robust government in the city, and we aim to initiate a visible change starting tomorrow,” attributing the new campaign to the crucial votes of each elector.
Under the supervision of senior officials from the MCD, construction debris and waste will be cleared, she indicated.
“The vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will soon be mirrored in every part of the city. Swachh Delhi will be our mission, and we are committed to that aim,” she asserted.
“Our campaign is ‘Badal Rahi Hai Dilli’. We have directed officials to ensure that all areas and public spaces are revitalized. Each District Magistrate will oversee their respective areas, and other officials will also be held accountable,” she stated.
The Deputy Commissioners of Police will face accountability in case of negligence regarding safety or encroachments on public walkways and spaces, she added.
“The entire administration is tasked with ensuring there are no neglected areas and that CCTV cameras are operational,” she stated.
