Bareilly, March 13 (NationPress) Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi, the National President of the All India Muslim Jamaat, announced on Thursday that in response to the advisory for Holi celebrations in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal, all mosques in the city will conduct Jummah Namaz at 2:30 p.m. instead of the usual 12 noon.

In a media address, Shahabuddin Razvi Bareilvi explained that the shift in namaz timings from 12 noon to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, which coincides with both Holi and Ramzan Jummah, was decided after discussions with various Muslim clerics and imams.

He emphasized that this decision aims to promote communal harmony and peace during the celebrations of both communities while preventing any attempts by miscreants to create discord.

Razvi expressed hope that both Holi and Jummah Namaz would be celebrated in a peaceful and joyful manner.

Earlier, on Wednesday, the Shahi Jama Masjid of Sambhal announced that Friday prayers on March 14 would be held at 2:30 p.m. owing to Holi festivities.

This announcement was made by the President of Jama Masjid, Zafar Ali.

The Barelvi cleric also urged the Muslim community to refrain from unnecessary outings during Holi and to exercise caution when venturing out for essential activities.

On the topic of holding namaz at home, he remarked that such practices do not align with Islamic traditions.

"Holding prayers inside the house is not permitted in Islam, especially during Jummah. It is crucial for Muslims to be present in the mosque for Jummah prayers," he stated.

He further encouraged the community to observe the holy month of Ramzan with patience and discipline, advocating for all festivals to be celebrated with mutual respect and harmony.
