Shimla, Sep 23 (NationPress) A vast crowd of devotees gathered at the esteemed Shakti Peeth Naina Devi temple in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, celebrating the second day of the sacred Shardiya Navratri with intense faith and spiritual zeal.
Situated in the tranquil hills of Bilaspur district, this hallowed temple is experiencing a remarkable influx of pilgrims from Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, and numerous other regions, all seeking the blessings of Maa Naina Devi. On this day, devotees pay homage to the second form of Goddess Durga, Maa Brahmacharini, who represents wisdom, penance, and spiritual enlightenment.
The Fair Officer and SDM Dharampal, who also holds the position of Chairman of the Temple Trust, visited the temple site to evaluate the arrangements and ensure the festival proceeds smoothly. He urged the believers to attend in large numbers, reassuring them of favorable weather conditions and dispelling any prevailing rumors.
"The access roads to the shrine have seen significant upgrades, and the administration, in partnership with the Temple Trust, is dedicated to providing all necessary amenities to guarantee a comfortable and spiritually enriching experience for all pilgrims," he stated.
SDM Dharampal also promised that any challenges faced by devotees would be swiftly resolved by the administrative team present.
Zila Parishad member Gaurav Sharma also visited the temple, offering prayers at the main sanctum. He commended the enhanced arrangements and extended a warm invitation to pilgrims to visit the shrine throughout Navratri to realize their aspirations through devotion and prayer.
The Naina Devi Temple, one of the most venerated Shakti Peeths in India, is perched at an elevation of 1,219 metres above sea level, roughly 80 kilometres from Bilaspur town. The nearest airport is located in Chandigarh, while the closest railway stations are Anandpur Sahib and Nangal in Punjab.
As Navratri progresses to its second day, known as Dwitiya Tithi of Shukla Paksha, worshippers partake in rituals and don the auspicious color of the day while performing the traditional 'puja vidhi'.
Maa Brahmacharini is depicted as calm and luminous, clad in white, holding a 'japa mala' in one hand and a 'kamandal' in the other, symbolizing purity and devotion.
