Chennai, Sep 21 (NationPress) DMK Deputy General Secretary and Thoothukudi MP Kanimozhi launched a fierce critique against the AIADMK leadership and the BJP on Sunday, claiming that the opposition party in Tamil Nadu has forsaken the ideals of its founder and is now operating under the influence of Delhi.
Speaking at a public gathering in Thoothukudi, Kanimozhi reminded attendees that AIADMK founder and former Chief Minister M.G. Ramachandran always championed “Annaism,” which upheld the principles of C.N. Annadurai.
“However, today, Edappadi K. Palaniswami, who claims to lead AIADMK, no longer advocates for Annaism. Instead, he has shifted to ‘Amit Shahism.’ For every issue, they bypass their own headquarters in Chennai, opting instead to fly to Delhi and wait outside Amit Shah’s office,” she asserted.
Kanimozhi mocked the apparent surrender of the AIADMK leadership, suggesting that the party has effectively relocated its headquarters to Delhi.
“Whether they can breathe or even converse is dictated by Delhi. Without the approval of (Home Minister) Amit Shah, two AIADMK leaders cannot even convene for a discussion,” she claimed.
The DMK leader also extended her criticism to encompass the BJP.
In light of the controversy surrounding the extensive removal of names from the electoral rolls, she referred to the term “SIR” as “Shah Intensive Revision.”
“This is the reality across the state. Voters are being removed from the list in the guise of revision, but what it genuinely signifies is the 'Shah Intensive Revision' being executed under BJP pressure,” she contended.
Kanimozhi further condemned the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), asserting: “Those who profess patriotism and nationalism daily must reflect on their own history. The RSS lacks the moral authority to preach to anyone.”
Her statements come at a time when AIADMK leadership appears to maintain close ties with the BJP amidst internal discontent, while the DMK intensifies its attacks on both parties in light of the forthcoming elections.
