Mumbai, Aug 8 (NationPress) Comedian and actor Kapil Sharma might soon receive protection from the Mumbai police after a shooting incident occurred outside his cafe in Canada. This marks the second such event outside his establishment in Surrey, British Columbia. Given that this is the second shooting within 30 days, the Mumbai police are on high alert and evaluating the potential threat to the actor's safety.
A police representative indicated that following the shooting, a post circulated widely on social media, alleging that the firing was orchestrated by the Goldie Dhillon and Lawrence Bishnoi gangs. They mentioned that the Mumbai police attempted to contact him, but he did not pick up the call. If he continues to miss calls, further action will be taken by police in Mumbai shortly.
After the initial shooting incident, the Crime Branch interrogated Kapil Sharma to determine if he had received any threats or extortion demands from the mentioned gang. Kapil assured them that he had not faced any such issues. Following this incident, the Crime Branch plans to question him once more regarding the social media claims. They have also initiated an investigation to ascertain if individuals linked to this gang have conducted reconnaissance around Kapil Sharma's residence or filming locations.
Previously, Kapil’s cafe in Surrey, British Columbia was targeted when a member of the banned terror group Babbar Khalsa fired multiple bullets. Harjit Singh, associated with the group, claimed responsibility for the incident, stating that it was a response to comments made regarding the Nihang Sikhs during a television program hosted by Kapil Sharma.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the attack, which took place in the early hours of Thursday around 2:00 am local time at Kap's Cafe, located at the 8400-block of 120th Street in Surrey.
