While speaking to the press, KJo recounted a time when Punjabi was the primary language on Bollywood sets, as many of the cast and crew hailed from Punjab.
He reminisced, "In those days, everyone on set was Punjabi. Whether it was a Manmohan Desai, Yash Chopra, or J. Om Prakash production, Punjabi was the spoken language. Directors, actors, and producers were all from Punjab - it was a familiar template. My father, Yash Johar, conversed with distributors and producers in Punjabi every morning, while my mother, Hiroo Johar, often confused me with her Sindhi conversations with relatives."
Karan confessed that working on "Akaal" transported him back to those cherished days.
