Mumbai, Dec 26 (NationPress) The shooting phase for the highly anticipated investigative crime-thriller ‘Daayra’, featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, under the direction of Meghna Gulzar, has successfully concluded.

The production house Junglee Pictures shared a joyful snapshot capturing Kareena, Prithviraj, and Meghna all smiles together.

‘Daayra’ is a compelling investigative crime thriller that delves into the repercussions of a heinous act, igniting polarized opinions within society. Rather than providing simple resolutions, Daayra stimulates profound reflection and inquiry.

Following the success of Talvar and Raazi, Daayra marks Meghna Gulzar’s third collaboration with Junglee Pictures, a partnership celebrated for producing thought-provoking and critically acclaimed cinema.

Set against the intricate backdrop of crime and justice, Daayra features its lead characters in roles designed to showcase their full dramatic potential. Prithviraj portrays a police inspector, while Kareena takes on a fierce, enigmatic role that adds a distinctive edge to the plot.

Co-produced by Junglee Pictures and Pen Studios, the film is now in post-production, with a theatrical release scheduled for 2026.

Earlier this month, on December 4, Kareena shared an enthusiastic photo on social media, reflecting on her journeys from Khalapur to Bhiwandi to Virar, expressing her excitement about the adventure.

“The shoot has been quite demanding for the team, transitioning from one location to another, but the atmosphere on set has been phenomenal. While it requires extensive travel to distant areas of Mumbai, Kareena is relishing every moment as she discovers the essence of real Mumbai,” a source noted.

Earlier this year, Kareena remarked on the film, saying: “As I celebrate 25 remarkable years in Hindi cinema, I'm overjoyed to announce my upcoming film, Daayra, with Meghna Gulzar at the helm. I have long admired her craftsmanship, from Talvar to Raazi, and being directed by her is a dream realized.”

She further noted that the chance to work alongside the talented Prithviraj Sukumaran is also a significant highlight: “I’m captivated by the film’s bold, thought-provoking storyline.
