Bengaluru, Oct 10 (NationPress) The BJP has launched a strong critique against the Congress party regarding the purported offer by imprisoned MLA K.C. Veerendra to allocate Rs 300 crore for Bihar in exchange for a ministerial position. They questioned, "How much taxpayer money have CM Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister Shivakumar committed to siphon off and send as contributions to Rahul Gandhi?"
R. Ashoka, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, expressed concerns, stating, "Given the actions of Congress MLA Veerendra Pappi, who is allegedly attempting to secure a ministerial berth by offering Rs 300 crore for the Bihar elections, one can speculate on how much more the CM Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, and other ministers might plunder to safeguard their positions and funnel funds to the high command."
He intensified his attack by asserting, "Utilizing money garnered from such unethical activities to purchase election tickets, contest elections, and bribe the high command for ministerial posts, only to leverage those positions for further looting - this is the harmful cycle that the Congress government has established in Karnataka."
According to the BJP leader, during previous Telangana elections and Lok Sabha polls, vast sums of money, including funds from the Valmiki Corporation, were reportedly "embezzled."
Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, stated, "The Congress party is deeply entrenched in corruption."
In response to inquiries regarding Veerendra's plans to allocate Rs 300 crore for the Congress high command in exchange for a Cabinet position, Narayanaswamy remarked, "Reports suggest that Congress MLA Veerendra was poised to offer approximately Rs 300 crore for the forthcoming Bihar elections in return for a ministerial role. I have also learned that during the recent Enforcement Directorate raids, assets valued at around Rs 400 crore were uncovered, along with the seizure of 50 kg of gold on Thursday."
