New Delhi, March 4 (NationPress) As India and Australia gear up for another thrilling ICC knockout match, former Indian wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik asserts that the Men in Blue have emerged as the most impressive team in the Champions Trophy 2025 thus far.

Ahead of the eagerly awaited semi-final on Tuesday, Karthik emphasized that India has demonstrated solid cricket performance throughout the tournament and should find it straightforward to progress—assuming they sustain their current level of play.

"The quality of India's cricket has likely been the best in the tournament. They have consistently played solid cricket, and if they can keep that momentum, I see no reason why they can't clinch victory," Karthik shared with Sky Sports.

Nevertheless, in light of India's supremacy, Karthik recognized a significant element that could disrupt their strategies—Travis Head. The Australian left-hander has historically posed a challenge for India in critical finals, earning the moniker Travis 'Headache' from former India coach Ravi Shastri.

Moreover, Head played a pivotal role in Australia's World Test Championship final triumph over India last year, scoring an impressive 163 at The Oval.

"Ravi Shastri has dubbed him Travis 'Headache' for good reason, as he has been a significant nuisance for India in almost every important match. The pace at which he has scored has disrupted India and alleviated the pressure on the other Australian batters," Karthik noted.

Australia, the reigning ODI World Cup champions, approach the semi-final without several key players, including Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Marsh, and Marcus Stoinis.

Despite their reduced squad, former England captain Nasser Hussain maintains that Australians possess a unique mindset when it comes to high-pressure cricket.

"Australia won't be intimidated. They may lack some players, but their record in ICC events is outstanding. Everyone in that locker room has grown up witnessing teams led by Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting, and Pat Cummins, realizing they are destined to succeed. They are not here merely to participate; they genuinely believe they can surmount a formidable Indian team," Hussain remarked.
