The film will be available for streaming exclusively on Waves OTT starting December 3, coinciding with the birth anniversary of this legendary freedom fighter.
Born on December 3, 1889, Khudiram Bose is a lasting emblem of youthful courage, patriotic zeal, and revolutionary fervor. At merely 18 years of age, he became one of India's youngest martyrs, facing the gallows with unparalleled bravery.
This homage also coincides with the nation honoring 150 years of the iconic slogan “Vande Mataram”, a rallying cry that Bose fervently utilized to awaken awareness and foster nationalism among the masses. The film chronicles Khudiram’s inspiring path from his early days in Medinipur district to his deepening commitment to revolutionary activities, influenced significantly by figures like Sister Nivedita.
Key moments from his life are depicted, including the failed assassination attempt on British magistrate Kingsford, his arrest, trial, and the valiant manner in which he embraced martyrdom on August 11, 1908. Shri Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharati, noted, “Waves OTT distinguishes itself by not just following trends; we are committed to preserving India's narrative.
While many platforms focus on commercial global content, our mission is centered on India: its history, heroes, languages, and lived experiences. By expanding our offerings of patriotic, cultural, and regionally significant stories, we aim to rejuvenate narratives that merit national recognition. Showcasing the tale of Khudiram Bose and his valor is part of this deliberate endeavor to deliver impactful, nation-building cinema to viewers across the country.”
