Bengaluru, Sep 25 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP commemorated the 109th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya on Thursday, unveiling the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan to mark the occasion.
BJP State President and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra presented the campaign's logo at the BJP State Office, Jagannath Bhavan, in Bengaluru. He then pledged his support to the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative and planted a sapling in front of the office.
Speaking to attendees, Vijayendra emphasized, "Aatmanirbhar Bharat signifies more than mere economic independence. India must attain self-reliance across spiritual, cultural, technological, and various other fields."
He noted that, aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, India is progressing toward technological and defense self-sufficiency.
"Indian products should gain international recognition. The Prime Minister has illustrated his commitment to self-reliance, even in the context of Swadeshi. This Swadeshi philosophy should transcend our thoughts and manifest in our daily lives and communities," he added.
Vijayendra mentioned that workshops on Aatmanirbhar Bharat have already been conducted at both national and state levels. Come December, the campaign will intensify with grassroots outreach to further promote Swadeshi ideals.
"Prime Minister Modi has pledged to transform India into a developed nation by 2047, steering it toward an Aatmanirbhar and self-sufficient Bharat. This vision has been realized under the strong leadership of Narendra Modi ji, inspired by the ideals of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya," Vijayendra reflected.
He acknowledged leaders like Syama Prasad Mookerjee, Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, L.K. Advani, and Atal Bihari Vajpayee for their vision of fostering a citizenry filled with patriotism and national spirit.
"To elevate India into a prosperous nation, a political platform was essential, and through the Jan Sangh, the groundwork for today’s BJP was established. Without Deendayal Upadhyaya's ideological framework, we wouldn't even be here discussing this today," he stated.
Vijayendra underscored the importance of integrity, dedication, and principles in politics to accomplish any objective. "Regardless of a leader's presence, a robust ideology and clear thinking can steer a movement. Deendayal Upadhyaya provided the BJP with that foundational strength through the Jan Sangh," he remarked.
He highlighted that the BJP has steadily evolved since the Jan Sangh days and now governs numerous states across India. "With over 15 crore registered members, the BJP stands as the largest political party globally. The NDA government led by the BJP has been re-elected for three consecutive terms," he asserted.
Former Chief Minister and MP Basavaraj Bommai attributed the success of Prime Minister Modi's Antyodaya initiative, which has lifted 25 crore individuals out of poverty, to Modi's leadership.
He made these remarks after paying floral tributes to Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya during an event organized by the Kadur unit of the BJP in Chikkamagaluru.
