Shivamogga (Karnataka), May 13 (NationPress) The Karnataka BJP unit is set to embark on a 'Tiranga Yatra' on May 15 in Bengaluru, alongside organizing activities throughout the state, to show support for Operation Sindoor, initiated by the Indian armed forces to combat terrorism.

During a press briefing at the Shivamogga district party headquarters on Tuesday, State BJP President B.Y. Vijayendra stated, "In the wake of Operation Sindoor, BJP President J.P. Nadda has called for Tiranga Yatras across all Indian states. The initiative, themed 'Citizens for National Security', aims to express support for Operation Sindoor and solidarity with our armed forces."

"A Tiranga Yatra will commence in Bengaluru on May 15. Participants will include retired soldiers, their families, farmers, doctors, engineers, and individuals from various professions, representing all sections of society," he added.

On the same day, events will be organized in key districts such as Mangaluru and Belagavi, he elaborated.

On May 16, additional programs will take place in Shivamogga and other district centers, according to BJP leader Vijayendra.

"From May 18 to 23, Tiranga Yatras will be held in taluk centers throughout Karnataka, aimed at enhancing the morale of Indian soldiers," he mentioned.

Addressing criticism from the Congress regarding the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, BJP leader Vijayendra remarked, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has clarified that the ceasefire declaration is not a permanent solution; Congress leaders need to grasp this reality."

He also condemned Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge and other Congress members for their flippant remarks following the Operation Sindoor ceasefire.

He refuted Kharge's assertions that Prime Minister Modi had capitulated to US President Donald Trump.

BJP leader Vijayendra underscored that ceasefire is a national policy issue and that every Indian ought to support the armed forces.

He stated that the Prime Minister has taken steps to eliminate all ambiguities surrounding the ceasefire matter.

He noted that Pakistan, intimidated by India's response, sought assistance from the US, which is significant.

"The Prime Minister has made it clear that if any negative incidents arise, we will respond decisively—it will be viewed as an act of war," he said.

BJP leader Vijayendra recalled that since independence, Kashmir has endured the brunt of terrorist violence.

"In light of the Pahalgam attack, there was a nationwide sentiment to eradicate terrorism, and Pakistan, which supports such actions, must face a firm response. Prime Minister Modi made a courageous decision by launching Operation Sindoor to eliminate terrorists at their roots and to provide Pakistan with a stern lesson," he stated.

He commended Operation Sindoor, highlighting that it even included operations crossing into Pakistan to target terrorist camps.

Regarding the ceasefire, Vijayendra reiterated that in his recent address, the Prime Minister clearly stated that the ceasefire is not permanent.

He added that if Pakistan perpetrates any terrorist attacks in the future, it will be regarded as a declaration of war.

"The Prime Minister has also communicated that water and blood cannot coexist—this is a clear message to both Pakistan and the international community," he emphasized.

District BJP president N.K. Jagadish, MLA S.N. Channabasappa, MLC Dhananjay Sarji, former MLC S. Rudregowda, district BJP general secretary M.B. Harikrishna, district spokesperson S.S. Jyoti Prakash, district media chief K.V. Annappa, and co-convener Chandrashekar S. were in attendance.
