New Delhi, May 12 (NationPress) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to launch a 10-day 'Tiranga Yatra' across India from May 13 to May 23. This campaign seeks to engage with citizens and showcase the successes of 'Operation Sindoor', initiated after the tragic incident in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, where 26 individuals lost their lives.
The primary aim of this Yatra is to reach out to the public and share the achievements of 'Operation Sindoor'.
Senior BJP leaders and ministers will spearhead the Yatras in various areas. The initiative will be overseen by notable party figures, including Sambit Patra, Vinod Tawde, Tarun Chugh, among others.
This decision was made during a significant meeting led by BJP National President, J.P. Nadda, in New Delhi on Monday.
During this meeting, senior party officials and leaders deliberated on strategies to communicate the operation’s successes to the public and to counter any misinformation circulating nationwide.
As part of this outreach, BJP members will conduct 'Tiranga Yatras' in several regions across the country. These events will see participation from Union ministers, Members of Parliament, elected representatives, and party officials at all levels.
The Yatras aim to evoke national pride, pay tribute to the armed forces, and strengthen public support for the government’s decisive actions regarding national security.
Party insiders indicated that the campaign will emphasize the valor of the Indian armed forces and the government's steadfast commitment to safeguarding the nation.
The BJP also aims to address the “misleading narratives” surrounding the operation and provide accurate information about its objectives and mission.
'Operation Sindoor' was initiated by the Indian government on May 7, following the horrific attack on tourists and a pony operator by terrorists in Pahalgam on April 22.
The operation targeted nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, identified through intelligence reports.
The government reported that precision strikes resulted in the neutralization of over 100 terrorists. Officials characterized the mission as “measured, non-escalatory, proportionate and responsible,” stressing that it adhered to India’s policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.
