Bengaluru, Nov 29 (NationPress) Karnataka's Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar expressed their unwavering unity on Saturday, stating, “Our solidarity will persist. We are united. There are no disagreements between us.” The leaders declared their intention to collaborate for the 2028 Assembly elections.
This announcement was made during a joint press conference at the Chief Minister’s official residence, Cauvery, in Bengaluru, following a breakfast meeting earlier that day.
While addressing the media, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah emphasized, “We stand together. There are no differences.”
“Recently, some confusion has arisen. Hence, we convened to discuss our strategy. Our goal is to secure victory in the 2028 Assembly elections and the forthcoming local body elections. Just as we united during the 2023 Assembly polls, we will continue to work hand in hand in the future. There are no differences now, nor will there be in the future. We will advance together,” he stated.
When questioned about the concept of “keeping promises,” Siddaramaiah responded, “What does ‘keeping promises’ mean? I have consistently stated that we will adhere to whatever the high command dictates.”
In response to inquiries regarding power sharing, Siddaramaiah reiterated, “We will comply with whatever the high command instructs us. We cannot answer every question posed to us.” He reaffirmed, “Our unity is steadfast. We are united, and no differences exist between myself and Shivakumar.”
As for the upcoming Winter Session of the Assembly commencing on December 8, the CM stated, “We will effectively confront the Opposition — be it the BJP or JD(S). They habitually engage in misinformation. Dy CM Shivakumar and I are prepared to tackle them, having devised a strategy.”
On the Opposition’s claim of introducing a no-confidence motion, Siddaramaiah remarked, “We possess a strength of 142, while they have only 64. It's implausible. JD(S) has just 18 MLAs, totaling a mere 82. Any no-confidence motion would be futile. We are ready to face any challenges.”
CM Siddaramaiah asserted that no MLAs or Ministers oppose the government.
Deputy CM Shivakumar also reiterated their message of unity with CM Siddaramaiah, stating, “Regarding leadership issues, we will adhere to the party high command. Whatever the party instructs, we will implement. We are loyal servants of the party.”
