Bengaluru, Aug 8 (NationPress) In a strong rebuttal to the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi's claims of electoral misconduct against the BJP and the Election Commission of India (ECI), Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy labeled these allegations as a "flood of falsehoods aimed at the Election Commission and a calculated plot to undermine democracy." The Congress party has asserted that they provided the necessary documents, placing the onus on the ECI to correct its errors or disprove the evidence.
In a statement via the social media platform X, Union Minister Kumaraswamy expressed, "A malicious endeavor to corrupt the essence of 'Amrit Kaal', fueled by those seeking political advantage through unfounded accusations against constitutional entities. This is an example of Goebbelsian politics at its most extreme, using lies to conceal electoral misdeeds."
Kumaraswamy further proposed, "The solution to voter fraud is evident: Link Aadhaar with Voter ID. This will decisively end this perilous game. I urge the Election Commission of India to resolve this issue directly."
Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar addressed the media on Friday in Bengaluru, stating, "We have our intelligence operations within the Congress party. We have conducted thorough investigations into electoral fraud. Prior to the Karnataka elections, we were able to mitigate some illegal activities through our preparations. We are aware that taking legal action may not yield results, as election cases often remain unresolved. Our goal is to inform the public about the ongoing situation and who is accountable."
"It is our democratic right to protect our system," Dy CM Shivakumar added.
Minister for RDPR, IT, and BT Priyank Kharge commented in Bengaluru, "We have disseminated thousands of documents. Rather than verifying them and fulfilling their responsibilities, it is unacceptable for allegations to be levied against LoP Rahul Gandhi."
"We have unveiled the truth through these documents. Now it is the responsibility of the BJP and JD(S) to prove them incorrect," he challenged.
Congress spokesperson Nizam Foujdar criticized the Election Commission, stating, "The Election Commission is evading its duties. It does not wish to acknowledge or rectify its mistakes. The critical issue is whether this was an error or an intentional act. Evidence of electoral fraud has been substantiated using data from the Election Commission's own site. It is evident that this is a significant scam. The Election Commission should recognize its faults and implement reforms to the system."
