Madhya Pradesh CM Emphasizes Learning from Prayag's Mahakumbh for Simhastha-2028

Bhopal, Jan 14 (NationPress) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that the arrangements conducted for the Mahakumbh in Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) offer valuable lessons for the upcoming Simhastha-2028 event scheduled in Ujjain.

He noted that the Uttar Pradesh government, under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has established comprehensive arrangements emphasizing the significance of Kumbh and the sanctity of the holy Sangam.

Chief Minister Yadav mentioned that the Madhya Pradesh government has dispatched a team of senior officials to Prayagraj to observe all arrangements made there, ensuring optimal preparation for Simhastha-2028.

He stated, "The provisions orchestrated by the Uttar Pradesh government for Mahakumbh in Prayagraj are instructive. Simhastha will take place in Ujjain in 2028, and our officials are closely monitoring to enhance our preparations for Simhastha."

Yadav emphasized that Mahakumbh fulfills the essence of Sanatan Dharma, attracting millions who seek to immerse themselves in Sangam for the blessings of Ma Ganga.

"The geographical features hold their significance for Sangam, but Mahakumbh is inherently a facet of Sanatan Dharma. I pray that Kumbh serves the essence of Sanatan Dharma," CM Yadav articulated.

It's noteworthy that the Kumbh Mela, one of the most significant religious congregations globally, commenced in Prayagraj on Monday (January 13) and is set to conclude on February 26.

This spiritual event is anticipated to draw millions of pilgrims in search of spiritual purification.

Reports indicate that over 60 lakh devotees have already participated in the holy dip at Sangam, termed as the Amrit Snan of Mahakumbh.

Sangam is where the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati rivers converge.

The Kumbh Mela takes place every three years across four different locations.

However, Mahakumbh is held exclusively in Prayagraj every twelve years.

Additionally, Mahakumbh 2025 is particularly significant due to its religious importance and the rare celestial alignment that occurs only once every 144 years.

The significance of Mahakumbh is further illustrated by the fact that, in addition to bathing in Sangam, countless devotees, often with their families, camp along the banks in tents, dedicating time to simple living, performing prayers and rituals, and studying religious texts.

This practice, referred to as Kalpavas, is believed by pilgrims to open the doors of heaven for them after their passing.

Moreover, incorporating a scientific perspective is equally vital during Kalpavas.
