Amaravati, Dec 19 (NationPress) Nara Lokesh, the Minister for IT, Electronics, and Communications in Andhra Pradesh, has leveled sharp criticism against Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, the President of the YSR Congress Party and former Chief Minister. He accused Reddy of initiating multiple Public Interest Litigations (PILs) aimed at significant IT park developments.
Lokesh expressed concern that these actions pose a direct threat to employment opportunities for the state's youth.
In a post shared on X, Lokesh highlighted that PILs have been filed against IT park initiatives by top firms such as TCS, Cognizant, Sattva Group, and currently Raheja Corp in Visakhapatnam. He emphasized that these projects collectively hold the potential to create over 100,000 jobs in Andhra Pradesh.
"The YSRC Party has initiated PILs against TCS, Cognizant, Sattva, and now Raheja IT parks – projects that together signify more than 1 lakh jobs for Andhra Pradesh. Y. S. Jagan, what is this animosity towards our youth's future? Why sabotage Andhra Pradesh at every turn?" he questioned.
The most recent PIL is against the land allocation for Raheja Corp’s proposed IT Park in Visakhapatnam, with petitioner G. Srinivasa Rao from the 'Society for Protection of Constitution,' represented by senior counsel Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy.
Lokesh stated that the continuous filing of PILs against prestigious investments sends a harmful signal to potential investors and undermines the efforts of Andhra Pradesh to establish itself as a hub for technology, innovation, and quality employment. He stressed that the coalition government is dedicated to maintaining transparent, lawful, and investor-friendly processes, and will staunchly defend projects that foster livelihoods and promote economic growth.
He added that Andhra Pradesh cannot tolerate politically motivated hindrances to development, especially while the state is focused on restoring investor confidence, attracting global companies, and creating opportunities for its youthful populace.
"The future of Andhra Pradesh is rooted in jobs, skills, and growth. Any obstruction to such projects is a direct attack on the ambitions of our youth," Lokesh reiterated, affirming the government's commitment to safeguarding development and ensuring the state's progress continues.
